July Campaign Update and Charity Bowling

Summer is the time when people take a break from work and focus their time at home on their families, they pursue their hobbies and complete some much needed housework that was put off earlier in the year.

Quite the opposite for the campaign, we are ramping up our efforts in order to be ready in the Fall when we expect the conservative nomination to be opened. We are still working on getting to our 15,000th home by door knocking and more volunteers are always welcome to get it done. I will be out in August door knocking several times per week maximizing my time with constituents and potential new members.

Charity Bowling Night with Brown Bagging for Kids

On August 25, I will be participating with "Team Tom Kmiec" in the 3rd Annual #PoliBowl 2014 Charity Bowling for BBC4K. In the past, many local politicians, business leaders, media pundits, and self-styled Calgary "twitterati" have participated to "Strike Out" hunger in Calgary. Both previous charity bowling events have sold out early.

The BBC4K works in partnership with the Calgary Board of Education and the Calgary Separate School District to combat the increasing number of kids attending school without a lunch. BBC4K delivered close to 500,000 lunches since September 2012. All proceeds from the event will be going to Brown Bagging for Calgary's Kids (BBC4K) to help feed local school kids. Every $1 raised = 1 Lunch.

Although we have a full team of supporters bowling, we will be keeping a list of interested supporters, in case someone needs to drop out at the last minute. If you might want to join me for an evening of bowling for charity on August 25 between 6 and 8:30PM, then please let us know by email at tom [@] tomkmiec.ca.

The most effective way to help the campaign is to get your family, friends and neighbours who live in the riding to buy a membership in the Conservative Party of Canada. If you would like to host a coffee party at your home and invite a group of prospective members, then please email me at tom [@] tomkmiec.ca or call 587-315-3007. The team can help you set it up and make sure its a success. Every vote can make the difference and nominations are often won by a handful of votes.
