Tom Kmiec wins Conservative nomination in Calgary Shepard

CALGARY, Oct. 4, 2014 – Tom Kmiec will soon begin his 2015 bid to become the Member of Parliament for Calgary Shepard following his victory in the Conservative Party of Canada’s nomination race. The Conservative nomination vote was held on Saturday, October 4, 2014, and Tom Kmiec received a clear show of support from riding members.

“I am honoured and grateful for the trust that Conservative members of Calgary-Shepard have placed in me and I look forward to representing the residents of Calgary Shepard in the next federal election,” said Tom.

“Calgary Shepard needs a strong voice in Parliament, someone who can get things done. A proven Conservative. I will ensure that the work we do in Parliament puts families first and delivers tax relief for hard-working Canadians.

I sincerely thank my family, friends and my amazing crew of volunteers for their unwavering support. They were the heart of this nomination campaign and I am grateful for all of their work.” said Tom.

Tom Kmiec has several years of experience working for provincial and federal ministers including working for Minister Jason Kenney at immigration as well as for the Minister of National Defense. After his work in conservative politics, Tom joined the Calgary Chamber of Commerce and worked with hundreds of business owners helping them solve their problems and connect them to like-minded entrepreneurs. Tom now works as a director with the Human Resources Institute of Alberta.

Tom Kmiec and his wife Evangeline live and work in Calgary. They are proud parents to two young children, Maximillian and Jolie. Tom is a board member with the Kidney Foundation of Canada southern Alberta chapter and an active community volunteer with organizations like Brown Bagging for Kids and Habitat for Humanity.
